Pref. Government reprimands 60 employees for inappropriate accounting

Governor Kada announced on October 13 that she reprimanded 60 employees for inappropriate accounting which cost the prefecture the damage amounting to approximately 99 million yen. In addition to that, she unveiled that both Governor and Vice-Governor's salary would be cut by 10-15% to take responsibility of the scandal. Approximately 4 million yen, confirmed as overt illegality, will be covered by executive officers' donations.

"As a top official, I would like to convey heartfelt apology for the people of Shiga. I will make an effort to recover the prefecture's credibility," says Governor Kada.
