Otsu signed a friendship agreement with an Australian city

An Australian delegation from Mosman, a city in the proximity of Sydney, visited Otsu City Office on May 21, signing a friendship agreement with the city.

The exchange between the two cities was initiated by the Otsu Chamber of Commerce that visited the Australian city in 2008. Then, the vice mayor of Mosman, who is now the mayor, visited Otsu City Office in June 2009, and students of Mosman High School made a visitation to Shiga Junior College in October.

"We are looking forward to developing our relationship together," says Anne Connon, mayor of Mosman who signed the agreement with Mayor Mekata of Otsu.
