Pref. Government launched its Facebook page

The Shiga Prefectural Government just launched its Facebook page at the beginning of this month, with the aim of providing information on the prefectural government, tourism, and various events. On the first day, July 1, in order to publicize Lake Biwa Day, a couple of articles with photos, including the one of Governor Kada and Watan, a mascot of the prefecture, were posted on the SNS page.

According to the Prefectural Government, flyers and reports of events will be posted on the page to create an intimate atmosphere, which readers would find it entertaining. In addition, information regarding disaster prevention will be posted to raise public awareness as well.

The Prefectural Government has already had a Twitter account as one of public relations tools. As an alternative tool, the Facebook page will play a critical role interlocked with Twitter when dealing with crucial information.
